Core services

Bossy color’s core services are everything you’d expect from an interior designer: we’re with you every step of the way. Depending on the nature of your project, my team and I will:

• Create a cohesive color palette for your home with the right paint colors, wallcoverings, and upholstery

• Design furniture plans for new and existing pieces

• Purchase furniture, rugs, light fixtures, and accessories from the Washington Design Center, local retailers, and online sources when appropriate

• Shop with you at the Washington Design Center

• Determine which window treatments are right for you and bring in professionals to fabricate and install them

• Work with contractors, architects, carpenters, window treatment fabricators, upholsterers, and other tradespeople on your behalf

• And whatever else your project requires.

After an initial e-mail exchange or telephone conversation to discuss your project, we schedule a two-hour site meeting , for which there is a flat fee.

On site, we’ll walk through your entire home, and I’ll ask a lot of questions about the spaces, your taste and lifestyle, and what you hope to accomplish. We’ll review any design magazines or books you’ve flagged. And I’ll spend time taking photographs, notes, and key measurements. I’ll also suggest some things we can do right away – I’m a fan of instant gratification!

After our site meeting, I send you a Letter of Agreement that includes a scope of work and deliverables. Once that’s signed and returned with a retainer, we begin.
