Core Services
Bossy color’s core services are everything you’d expect from an interior designer: we’re with you every step of the way. Depending on your needs, we can:
- Create a cohesive color palette for your home
- Design furniture plans for new and existing pieces
- Purchase furniture, rugs, light fixtures, and accessories from the Washington Design Center, local retailers, antique shops, and online sources
- Recommend window treatments and supervise their fabrication and installation
- Help you purchase new art and place the artwork you have
- Work with contractors, architects, carpenters, upholsterers, wallpaper hangers, window treatment fabricators, and other tradespeople on your behalf
- And do whatever else your project requires.
We first schedule a two-hour site meeting , for which there is a flat fee. Then we’ll send you a questionnaire so we can hit the ground running.
On site, we’ll walk through your entire home, and I’ll ask a lot of questions about your taste, lifestyle, and what you hope to accomplish. We’ll review any design magazines or books you’ve flagged, and I’ll spend time taking photographs, notes, and key measurements.
After our site meeting, I send you a Letter of Agreement that includes a scope of work and deliverables. Once that’s signed and returned with a retainer, we begin.
For rates, references, and availability, please contact us with some basic information about yourself and your project. We look forward to hearing from you!
Bossy basic
“My living room has never felt right. How can I make it more appealing?”
“I don’t mind shopping for furniture and rugs – but I have no idea what to buy!”
“We rent, but we want to love this space as long as we’re here – and buy with our next home in mind.”
If you need design guidance but are willing to execute the changes yourself, the bossy basic is ideal.
This is a self-contained, 2-hour on-site consultation. It’s amazing how much we can accomplish in that time.
During our bossy basic, we might move some furniture around, choose some paint colors, and decide what’s worth keeping, what’s worth rehabilitating, and what’s worth replacing.
We give you as many specific recommendations as possible for furniture, lighting, rugs – whatever you need. I always bring a member of the bossy team with me, and we go online right then and there to show you exactly what we’re talking about.
After our bossy basic, I’ll leave you with a design notebook – the “bossy binder,” – which lists bossy color’s preferred tradespeople and go-to resources. Then you implement changes at your own pace.
There is a flat fee for the bossy basic, with no further obligation on your part.
